Panda Wong (AUS): “Creeping Normalities”

PROJECT overview

“Creeping Normalities” by Panda Wong explores ecological changes and the shrinking bamboo population along the Code River in Yogyakarta alongside Pak Totok.

The work blends concrete poetry written from the perspective of a century-old bamboo stalk, chlorophyll printing on found bamboo leaves, and live-coded visuals using Hydra. In collaboration with Jahan Xanlü, processed poetic readings and vocals create a soundscape evoking loss, decay, and fading traces.

  • Digital Hydra short film
  • Audio poetry soundscape,
  • Chlorophyll prints on bamboo leaves
  • Video duration: 11:19 minutes
