About Us

This project is grounded in the convergence of community-engaged arts, speculative climate futures, and hybrid digital-tactile methodologies. It responds to the urgent global imperative for participatory, culturally rooted, and future-focused responses to climate change. The initiative draws on Indonesia’s strong traditions of community practice and ecological knowledge, leveraging diverse contemporary frameworks in eco-arts and digital innovation.

Primary Goal
Connect Australian and Indonesian artists to collaborate on speculative climate futures through community-engaged arts practice. (collective, inter-disciplinary, etc)

Capacity Building

Support experimentation, peer-to-peer learning, and inter-disciplinary artistic development through workshops and 1:1 mentoring.

Cultural Integration

Bridge digital tools with traditional practices, specifically integrating traditional Indonesian ecological knowledge with contemporary digital art forms.

Innovation Focus

Develop experimental techniques that may include mycelium/batik fusion, climate gamification prototypes, and AR installations.

Community Engagement

Create 4-8 community art prototypes that engage local communities in climate future planning.

Knowledge Sharing

Produce a Climate Futures Playbook documenting collaborative Australia-Indonesia creative engagement models and pilot projects, translated into other ASEAN languages.

Sustainability

Establish carbon reduction blueprints for future arts residencies and implement sustainability tracking frameworks.

Expected Outcomes

10+ new works created, strengthened Australia-Indo artist-to-artist and institutional partnerships, and prototype models for trans-boundary engagement.
